Gallery Scarabeus

Family marionette theatre gained its greatest popularity during the First Republic (1918-1938). The exhibit includes prosceniums, backdrops, marionettes, set pieces, props and play scripts. Many Czech artists, including Mikoláš Aleš and Artuš Scheiner, contributed to its creation. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to artists associated with the Říše loutek theatre, including Vojtěch Sucharda and Bohumír Koubek. By prior arrangement we offer marionette workshops and shows for pre and elementary schools.
